poor bob

here’s a little story of how paul learned

not to mess with alice, how to not get burned

there she was writhing on the floor

she said, "i’ve felt pain, but not like this before"

so paul took her and looked her in her eyes

and what he asked alice took her by surprise

oh, please tell me tell me my dear
do you think the boys can still come here

poor bob, nothing ever works for him

poor bob, nothing ever comes out right
you see, bob had plans to come into town
to go to the races and play around
a little bit of golf and a whole lotta beer
was paul free it was not quite clear
so paul packed alice up in her car
took her to the hospital not to far
now he had alice out of his hair
where to get a baby sitter, where, where, where
poor bob, nothing ever works for him
poor bob, nothing ever comes out right
poor, poor alice with her kidney stone
looking for a baby sitter on the phone
paul called alice, he called her from the track
said he wouldn’t bring a shake behind the doctor’s back
paul and the guys came in on the run
they had too much beer and way too much sun
they sat in front of alice all in a row
they stayed five minutes then they had to go
poor bob, nothing ever works for him
poor bob, nothing ever comes out right
well, alice came home and gave paul hell
paul learned his lesson and he learned it well
but just in case the lesson was missed
what he should do is now in a list
poor bob, nothing ever works for him
poor bob, nothing ever comes out right
poor bob, nothing ever works for him
poor bob, nothing ever comes out
nothing ever comes out
nothing ever comes out right
